“This is my 24th birthday cake. As it was my first year entering the workforce after graduating from college, my friends had a custom cake made to celebrate. Since my family name is Wang, they wanted to wish me prosperity, so they asked the bakery to write 'Wang Shang Jia Wang' (meaning 'more prosperous Wang') on the cake. However, perhaps because the cake decorator was in a hurry to get off work, it was written as 'Wang Shang Jia Ban' (meaning 'working overtime Wang'). Surprisingly, after my birthday, I indeed ended up working overtime a lot for various reasons that year. Of course, this is just a funny little anecdote. Now, my friends and I are getting busier with work, but I still fondly remember those days when we gathered together to cut the cake.”
